Orphans Sponsorship Project: A Beacon of Hope for a Better Life
Introduction
قال النبي محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم: “أنا وكافل اليتيم في الجنة هكذا”، وأشار بالسبابة والوسطى
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:
“The one who cares for an orphan and myself will be together in Paradise like this” and he held his two fingers close together.
Inspired by this noble hadith, the One Nation Organization has been providing monthly financial support to orphaned children to cover their living expenses and improve their quality of life since 2018.
This project goes beyond mere financial aid. It offers a comprehensive program that includes training and activities aimed at nurturing the personality of a Muslim child. These programs involve teaching Quranic verses, Hadiths, and their application in daily life, instilling Islamic values and ethics that guide children from ignorance to knowledge.
The project also focuses on enhancing their linguistic skills through Arabic lessons, enabling them to read and comprehend accurately. Additionally, it brings joy to their lives through purposeful recreational activities, such as horseback riding at the Ertugrul Equestrian Club.
We aim for this initiative to be purely for the sake of Allah, asking Him to accept it and bless it abundantly.
Project Overview
Vision and Mission
The Orphans Sponsorship Project in Syria is one of the unique initiatives by the Iqra Organization, designed to provide an Islamic and holistic upbringing for children. It focuses on:
Developing the intellectual, psychological, and behavioral capacities of children.
Creating an educational environment that blends Islamic teachings with recreational and educational activities.
Preparing children to become active and positive members of the Islamic community.
Core Training Activities
Arabic Language: Improving reading and writing skills.
Islamic Education: Teaching the Quran, Hadiths, Seera (Prophet’s biography), and Aqeedah (Islamic creed).
Recreational Activities: Such as football, swimming, and horseback riding.
Project Design
The project is designed to support orphans by offering educational opportunities linked to a monthly sponsorship of $20. This sponsorship funds the children’s participation in training and educational activities, creating a bridge between financial aid and personal development.
Key Milestones

September 2018: The “One Ummah” project was launched with 161 children, expanding activities to additional mosques.
October 2019: The “My Orphan” project introduced specialized training in computer skills, karate, horseback riding, and English, alongside Quranic and recreational activities.
2020: The “Seeds of Hope” project enrolled 48 children following a similar structure.

Impact on the Local Community
This project addresses the urgent educational and living needs of orphaned children, especially those affected by war in Syria. By providing Islamic education and developing their social and life skills, the project aims to fill the void left by the absence of parents and create a brighter future for these children.
Stories of Hardship
Sarhan and Aya Abdul Mahmud (One Nation):
Guardian: Fatima Ahmed Mahmoud.
Family Members: 5.
Location: Azaz / Al-Tadamun Camp.
Contact: +905366685780.
Residence: Small tent used for sleeping, cooking, and bathing.
The family lives in dire conditions. Fatima lost her husband in an airstrike ten years ago, leaving her to care for her four children. Sarhan suffers from growth delays, facial burns, and nerve damage due to a fire that destroyed their home. The family survives by collecting spoiled vegetables from the market due to extreme poverty.
Prayer and Dedication
We pray for Allah’s blessings upon this project, hoping it will light up the lives of orphans, improve their circumstances, and build a better future for them. The Orphans Sponsorship Project is not just about financial aid—it is a mission of hope, education, and transformation.
